Faisal Shayesta, the captain of the national football team, has declared that he no longer wishes to play for the national team due to corruption within the Afghanistan Football Federation.<\/h4>\n

Kabul 24<\/strong><\/a>: On Tuesday, October 24th, Shayesta alleged on his Facebook page that officials within the Afghan Football Federation are embezzling players\u2019 funds. He claims that most of the players<\/a> have not received their salaries, yet officials are misappropriating the players\u2019 substantial $30,000 allowances.<\/p>\n

In addition to Faisal Shayesta, players Zolfeqar Nazari, Rahmat Akbari, Najm Haidari, Omid Popalzai, and Imran Haidari have also decided not to represent Afghanistan in football any longer.<\/p>\n

As of now, the Football Federation has not responded to these allegations.<\/p>\n

These players have made this decision at a time when the national football team is set to face Qatar and Kuwait in the second round of the World Cup preliminary matches later this month.<\/p>\n
