The Ministry of Interior of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has announced new restrictions on the use of right-hand drive vehicles in Kabul.<\/h5>\n

Kabul 24<\/strong><\/a>: This measure aims to better regulate urban traffic and enhance road safety. According to the ministry\u2019s statement, all unregistered right-hand drive vehicles are required to leave the capital.<\/p>\n

This directive was officially issued on Saturday, 8 Sunbula 1404 (August 30, 2025), and owners of such vehicles are obligated to comply.<\/p>\n

The primary goal of this decision is to reduce traffic congestion, improve the flow of vehicles on Kabul\u2019s streets, and decrease road accidents.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Interior emphasized that right-hand drive vehicles, due to their design, which is incompatible with Afghanistan\u2019s standard left-hand drive system, pose risks to both drivers and pedestrians.<\/p>\n

The ministry has urged owners of right-hand drive vehicles to either register their vehicles or relocate them outside Kabul.<\/p>\n

Authorities at the Ministry of Interior stated that after the specified deadline, legal actions will be taken against unregistered right-hand drive vehicles in Kabul.<\/p>\n

These actions may include fines, vehicle impoundment, or other legal penalties.<\/p>\n

The ministry has called on citizens to cooperate and adhere to these regulations to contribute to improving traffic conditions and safety in the city.<\/p>\n

This decision comes as Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan, faces multiple challenges related to traffic and transportation.<\/p>\n

The increasing number of vehicles, inadequate infrastructure, and non-compliance with traffic regulations have made urban management difficult.<\/p>\n

It is expected that this new restriction will help<\/a> alleviate some of these issues, though its successful implementation depends on public cooperation and strict oversight by authorities.<\/p>\n
