Kabul 24: In the group stage, the young Afghan players dominated with authority, securing three convincing victories. In their opening match, they overwhelmed Uzbekistan with a resounding 10-2 scoreline. In the second game, they crushed the host nation Bahrain 7-0, showcasing solid defense and clinical finishing. In their final group encounter last night, they defeated China 4-1 to top the group with a perfect record and maximum points.Abdul Malik Kohistani, a passionate fan from Kabul, said: “They have beaten strong teams.
We want more victories, and we stand firmly behind the players.”With three consecutive wins, the Afghan team has qualified for the semi-finals, where they will face Thailand tomorrow in a bid to secure at least a silver medal.
Head coach Behroz Jafari stated: “We have one day of rest, and we will make the most of it to prepare. Please support us against Thailand.”The players are equally determined.
Team captain Abbas Haidari said: “Thank God we reached the semi-finals.
