Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Islamic Emirate, has made his inaugural foreign visit to the United Arab Emirates, meeting with President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Kabul 24: During their discussions, Akhund emphasized the importance of enhancing relations between Afghanistan and the UAE.
The UAE president reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Afghanistan’s reconstruction efforts.
Health Examination and Diplomatic Outreach
The visit was also described by the Islamic Emirate’s spokesperson as a health examination for Akhund. Deputy Spokesperson Hamidullah Fitrat noted the Prime Minister’s call for broader cooperation among Muslim nations.
Potential for Broader Engagement
Political analysts suggest that high-level visits from Islamic Emirate officials to neighboring countries could foster better relations. Experts believe the UAE’s involvement could be crucial in connecting the Islamic Emirate with Western nations, particularly the United States, potentially leading to official recognition and facilitating Afghan mobility to the UAE.
