US Says IEA is Not Ally in Fight Against Daesh

The United States Department of Defense stated that Washington does not consider the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) to be an ally or partner in the fight against Daesh.

Kabul 24: Pentagon deputy spokesperson Sabrina Singh clarified at a press conference that the US works with “like-minded partners and allies” when it comes to ensuring the defeat of Daesh.

Russian President Refers to IEA as Ally

Last month, Russian President Vladimir Putin referred to the Islamic Emirate as an “ally” in the fight against terrorism. He emphasized that “the Taliban (IEA) control power in the country. In this sense, the Taliban (IEA) are certainly our allies in the fight against terrorism, because any acting government is concerned with the stability of its administration and the state it governs.”

IEA Claims Elimination of Daesh

The Islamic Emirate has claimed that it has eliminated Daesh in Afghanistan. IEA has also stated that it does not need the assistance of any country in the fight against Daesh.
