Pakistan’s Foreign Minister: We Support All Efforts for a Stable Afghanistan

Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, has reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to supporting any efforts that lead to a peaceful and stable Afghanistan.

Kabul 24: Speaking at the annual coordination meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) foreign ministers, Dar emphasized key priorities, including the formation of an inclusive government, respect for women’s rights, and preventing Afghanistan’s soil from being used against other nations.Dar stated, “Afghanistan remains a major concern for us.

Pakistan seeks swift normalization of the situation. Humanitarian aid faces severe funding shortages.

We expect Afghanistan’s interim government to uphold human rights, ensure political inclusivity, and prevent its territory from being used for terrorism. Decisive actions must be taken against all terrorist groups operating in Afghanistan.

Pakistan will continue supporting efforts to build a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Afghanistan.”Abdul Nasser Shafiq, a university professor, noted, “The international community should engage with Afghanistan’s current government, but it insists on respect for universally accepted human values.”This marks the second OIC meeting in a week to focus on supporting Afghanistan and ending its global isolation.

Three days earlier, at the OIC Contact Group meeting in New York, Qatar’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs highlighted the group’s critical role in addressing Afghanistan’s challenges, urging member states to foster meaningful dialogue and support.

Baqir Saeer, another university professor, remarked, “Global engagement with Afghanistan hinges on fundamental internal changes.

Without these, even numerous contact groups won’t lead to the level of international connection desired.”In recent weeks, Afghanistan has regained attention at international forums, including the 80th UN General Assembly.

The Islamic Emirate, however, has consistently urged countries to address concerns directly with Afghanistan and demanded representation at international meetings discussing the country’s issues.

This renewed focus underscores the urgency of stabilizing Afghanistan, with calls for inclusive governance and respect for human rights remaining central to global discussions.
