Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign MinisterMuttaqi at Moscow Format: Afghanistan Rejects Foreign Military Presence of the Islamic Emirate, declared during the seventh Moscow Format meeting that Afghanistan, as a free and independent nation, rejects any foreign military presence.

Kabul 24: Speaking at the event on Tuesday, he emphasized that this has been Afghanistan’s historical stance and will remain its policy moving forward.

Muttaqi stated that the Islamic Emirate seeks economic, political, and diplomatic relations with countries in the region and beyond, asserting that foreign military presence is unacceptable to the Afghan people, the Islamic Emirate, and the region.

Muttaqi expressed gratitude for Russia’s “bold” decision to recognize the Islamic Emirate and accept Afghanistan as an official member of the Moscow Format.

He voiced hope that other nations would follow suit in recognizing the Islamic Emirate. Describing the views of participating countries as “highly positive,” he noted a global consensus on fostering cooperation with Afghanistan.

Highlighting the achievements of the past four years, Muttaqi claimed that Afghanistan is now united under a “successful” government, with no major incidents posing threats to regional or extra-regional countries.

He further asserted that drug cultivation has been completely halted in Afghanistan and that groups like Daesh no longer operate in the country.

The Foreign Minister called for regional cooperation to eliminate drug cultivation in other countries and to jointly counter threats like Daesh.

He stressed Afghanistan’s readiness to collaborate with regional partners to ensure security and stability.

Muttaqi’s remarks underscore Afghanistan’s commitment to sovereignty and its pursuit of broader diplomatic ties.

The Moscow Format meeting provided a platform to strengthen Afghanistan’s position in regional dialogues and garner international support for the Islamic Emirate.
