The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has repeatedly rejected visa requests from senior Pakistani officials, including Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Defense Minister, Asim Malik, the head of intelligence, and two other generals over the past three days.
Kabul 24: Zabihullah Mujahid has confirmed that these requests were denied due to Pakistan’s violation of Afghanistan’s airspace.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, stated that due to Pakistan’s aerial violations, Kabul has not permitted the Pakistani delegation to travel and has rejected their requests.
This action by the Islamic Emirate reflects a shift in Kabul’s diplomatic approach, emphasizing the principle of mutual respect in relations with neighbors.
Political analysts believe this stance demonstrates the Islamic Emirate’s resolve against violations of Afghanistan’s national sovereignty.
Tensions escalated following Pakistan’s airstrikes last Thursday, which violated Afghanistan’s airspace.
In response, Islamic Emirate forces conducted a retaliatory operation along the Durand Line on Saturday evening, resulting in the deaths of 58 Pakistani soldiers, injuries to 30 others, and the capture of 25 military outposts.
So far, Pakistani authorities have not officially commented on the repeated rejection of their delegation’s visa requests.
These developments have added complexity to bilateral relations and underscore the need for dialogue to reduce tensions.
