According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Afghanistan’s exports to Iran from the beginning of the current solar year until the 10th of Saratan (July 1) amounted to about $16 million, while imports were valued at $740 million. Both exports and imports between Afghanistan and Iran have increased this year compared to last year.
Iran’s Non-Oil Exports to Afghanistan Up 41%
Kabul 24: Iranian media reported a $123 million increase in non-oil exports to Afghanistan in the first three months of the current solar year. This represents a 41% increase in Iran’s non-oil exports to Afghanistan during this period.
Efforts to Boost Trade and Economic Ties
The Iranian and Afghan officials have expressed readiness to boost bilateral trade and economic relations. They discussed the construction of a new customs office and the signing of an agriculture deal. Iran’s exports to Afghanistan total approximately $2 billion per year, mainly comprising machinery, construction materials, food, and oil.
The First Deputy of the Afghanistan Chamber of Industries and Mines emphasized increasing tariffs on goods produced in Afghanistan and stated that more efforts should be made to market the country’s products in other countries’ markets.
