Afghanistan’s National Wushu Team Returns Home with a Bronze Medal from Islamic Games

Mohammad Ja’far Sultani, a member of Afghanistan’s national wushu team, returned to the country to a warm welcome from officials and fans after shining at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games and winning a bronze medal.

Kabul 24: Sultani, who secured the bronze medal for Afghanistan by defeating several opponents in the competition, says he is determined to upgrade the color of his medal in upcoming Asian and world championships and achieve even greater success.He also called for increased financial support for national athletes.

Officials from the Physical Education and Sports Directorate and the Ministry of Interior praised the recent successes of Afghan athletes on the international stage and emphasized that the Islamic Emirate’s efforts to develop sports have created the conditions for progress and historic medal wins.

They promised that both financial and moral support for athletes will increase in the future.More than 50 athletes from Afghanistan participated in this edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games.

Among the various disciplines, only the Muay Thai, Taekwondo, and Wushu teams managed to win medals:In Muay Thai, Mohammad Yusuf Jahangir won a historic gold medal for Afghanistan.

In Taekwondo, Mohsen Rezaei earned a silver medal.

In Wushu, Mohammad Ja’far Sultani secured the bronze medal.

The 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, hosted by Saudi Arabia in Riyadh, featured participation from nearly 60 countries, including Afghanistan.
