The recent floods in Baghlan have left a trail of destruction, with many families losing their homes, livestock, and means of livelihood. Families Struggle to Rebuild After Losing Everything

Kabul 24: Mohammad Ishaq, another flood victim, shared his heartbreak, saying, “Where we are standing now, this was our home, and the flood took it all away.” The elderly Shahi Khan lost four family members and all his possessions in the floods, leaving him in a dire situation. He pleaded for help, stating, “Our request is for help in any way possible because we are struggling in every aspect.”

Damaged Infrastructure Hinders Relief Efforts

The floods have not only affected residential areas but have also damaged public infrastructure, including the Kabul-Baghlan highway. Ashraf Ghani, a driver, called for the reconstruction of this vital route, saying, “Our request from the Islamic Emirate is to rebuild the roads that have been destroyed by the floods.”

Assistance Efforts Underway

All affected individuals will be identified to provide them with assistance.”

Widespread Devastation Across Multiple Provinces

The floods in Baghlan are part of a larger crisis affecting several provinces in the country. Many flood victims are currently living in the open or under tents, facing the challenges of rebuilding their lives from scratch.

The urgent need for assistance is clear, as the flood victims struggle to recover from the devastating losses. The government and aid organizations must work together to provide immediate relief and support the long-term rehabilitation of these communities.
