Europe donated 25 million euros to Afghanistan

The World Food Program of the United Nations has announced the aid of 25 million euros from the European Union to Afghanistan.

Kabul 24: The World Food Program has announced today, Tuesday, 20 Sableh, that the European Union has donated 25 million euros to Afghanistan.

According to this institution, this humanitarian aid will be used to provide food security for hundreds of thousands of people, including children, pregnant and lactating women.

The World Food Program also said that it will provide food and cash aid to 600,000 people, 250,000 pregnant and lactating women and 140,000 children with the EU budget.

Francois Gomans; The head of the European Union’s humanitarian aid operations in Afghanistan said: “The European Union is steadfast in its commitment to support the people of Afghanistan, who are facing one of the largest and most complex humanitarian crises in the world.”

According to the World Food Program, in the last three years, the European Union has contributed 150 million euros through the World Food Program in Afghanistan.

François Gomans, the head of the European Union’s humanitarian aid operation in Afghanistan, said that one out of every three Afghan citizens does not know where their next meal will come from.

Gomans added that the people of this country are facing a difficult winter. He said that the European Union stands by the people of Afghanistan who need life-saving aid to survive.

Hsiao Wei Li, director of the World Food Program in Afghanistan, also said: The needs in Afghanistan are high before winter arrives, and hunger affects one third of the population under the influence of high levels of malnutrition.
