Flood in Afghanistan killed seven people

According to the Taliban’s Ministry for Disaster Management, recent flash floods have caused the deaths of seven people and injuries to nine others in several provinces of Afghanistan.

Kabul 24: Shafiullah Rahimi, the ministry’s spokesperson, released a video on Sunday saying that the incidents occurred in Paktia, Paktika, Nangarhar, Logar, Kapisa, Parwan, and Maidan Wardak provinces within the last five days.

Rahimi said that the floods have caused extensive damage, including the destruction of 300 residential houses, 1,000 acres of farmland, and at least 100 livestock.

Rahimi further said that the ministry has taken action by issuing necessary directives to local officials to assist the affected individuals.

Afghanistan has been grappling with recurrent heavy rainfall and subsequent floods since last year, resulting in the displacement of thousands of families who are in urgent need of humanitarian aid
