Qatar Emphasizes Importance of Women’s Rights
Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation highlighted the importance of respecting women’s right to education, economic participation, and other essential freedoms for women and girls in Afghanistan.
Lolwah Al-Khater stated: “The fundamental rights and freedoms of women, girls, and all people in Afghanistan must be respected, protected, and fulfilled, just like human rights everywhere else, must be respected, protected, and fulfilled.”
Political Analyst Calls for Dialogue with Islamic Emirate
Edris Mohammadi Zazai, a political analyst, said: “There needs to be dialogue with the officials of the Islamic Emirate and discussions with them to find solutions to the problems. I don’t think that side meetings and discussions there will solve Afghanistan’s issues.”
Islamic Emirate Responds to Criticism
Suhail Shaheen, the head of the Islamic Emirate’s political office in Qatar, responded to some criticisms about Afghanistan, stating that instead of criticism, the world should take the path of engagement with the Islamic Emirate.
The 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly began on September 24th and will continue for five days.
