Imran Khan extended the bail in several cases where the court approved the exemption from appearance.

The anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore has decided to extend the bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan in three cases, including charges of vandalism and arson at the Corps Commander House. The court, which was presiding over the proceedings related to these cases, also approved Khan’s request for a one-day exemption from appearing in court.

Kabul24: Despite the court’s decision, Imran Khan did not make an appearance during the hearing. In his application seeking exemption from appearance, the former Prime Minister cited his late arrival from Islamabad to Lahore after traveling during the night. He mentioned that the journey had left him fatigued, particularly considering his age of 70.
The bail extension for Imran Khan provides him with temporary relief, allowing him to remain free until June 27 while the cases against him are ongoing. The charges of vandalism and arson at the Corps Commander House have been a subject of significant legal scrutiny, and the court’s decision reflects a continuation of the legal process.

Court Grants Imran Khan’s Application for Exemption from Appearance
Imran Khan’s exemption from appearing in court highlights the understanding of the court towards his circumstances and the acknowledgment of the challenges faced during travel, especially for individuals of older age.

It is important to note that the court’s approval for exemption does not undermine the seriousness of the charges against him, but rather provides a legal provision for individuals facing exceptional circumstances.

Imran Khan Cites Fatigue and Late Arrival as Reasons for Non-appearance
The decision of the ATC is part of the judicial process, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their position, are treated fairly and provided with an opportunity to present their case.

The extension of bail and exemption from appearance allow Imran Khan to focus on his legal defense while fulfilling his responsibilities as the Chairman of PTI.
