Iran’s 2nd Humanitarian Aid Shipment Reaches Mazar-e-Sharif

The Islamic Republic of Iran has sent its second shipment of humanitarian aid to the flood-affected areas in Afghanistan. The aid, which includes food items, medicine, carpets, tents, and blankets, arrived in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif.
Iran Pledges Continued Support for Afghan Flood Victims

Kabul 24: Sajad Jafari, the Deputy Consul General of Iran in Mazar-e-Sharif, emphasized the historical ties and cultural similarities between Iran and Afghanistan. He assured that Iran will continue to provide aid to the recent flood victims in the country.

Afghan Red Crescent Society Welcomes International Aid

Officials from the Afghan Red Crescent Society welcomed the aid shipment from Iran and stated that it will soon be distributed to the flood victims. Mohammad Younus Maasomi, Head of the Afghan Red Crescent Society in the northern region, mentioned that aid from Turkey, Qatar, and Iran, amounting to dozens of tons, has been sent to northern Afghanistan.

Flood Victims Call for Permanent Shelters

Some flood victims are urging aid organizations to address their challenges and provide them with permanent shelters.

Mohammad Ishaq, a tribal elder from Gurziwan district in Faryab, highlighted the need for shelters in the cold areas, stating that a single tent will not solve people’s problems. He called on charitable organizations and the Islamic Emirate to work on providing shelters for the affected people.

Crops and Agriculture Destroyed by Floods

Mohammad Sharif, a flood victim from Faryab, emphasized the destruction of crops and agriculture due to the floods. He stressed the need for aid organizations to assist the flood victims in rebuilding their lives.

Several provinces in Afghanistan, particularly Baghlan, have recently experienced devastating floods, resulting in significant loss of life and property. The aid shipments from Iran and other countries aim to provide relief and support to the affected communities during this challenging time.
