Seyed Hossein Mirshafi, adviser and representative of the Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran in infrastructure development and special projects, said that his country is ready to invest 6 billion dollars in the transportation infrastructure sector in Afghanistan.
Kabul 24: The advisor and representative of Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development in a conversation with an Iranian media has added that transportation cooperation with Afghanistan can help strengthen the economic relations between the two countries.
Seyed Hossein Mirshafi added: “We have announced in the joint commission between the two countries that we are ready to invest up to six billion dollars in Afghanistan’s transportation infrastructure. “Afghanistan is also a rich country and has very rich resources.”
On the other hand, the political deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office and the special representative of the President and Iran’s ambassador to Afghanistan discussed the activation and development of the Chabahar Dam, Afghanistan’s access to open waters, and the completion of Iran’s half-finished projects in Afghanistan.
Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesman of AA said about this meeting: “He mentioned Iran’s efforts to give Afghanistan access to open waters through the expansion of Chabahar port and promised to complete Iran’s half-finished health projects in Afghanistan.”
A number of economic experts consider the development and expansion of economic relations with Iran to be important in improving the economic situation and emphasize that Iran’s investment in transportation infrastructure in the country is beneficial.
Meanwhile, during the current week, a delegation from the Ministry of Public Works went to Iran and discussed the development of railways with the country’s officials.
