Japan donated 4.46 million dollars to the victims of the earthquake in Herat

According to Kabul 24; In the announcement of the Japanese embassy in Kabul, it is stated that three million dollars of this amount of aid will be spent through the World Food Program, the International Organization for Migration, the International Federation of Red Cross and the Red Crescent Society in the field of food, health and other needs of the victims of the earthquake in western Afghanistan. will be.

Also, according to the Japanese embassy, ​​another 1.46 million dollars will be provided by Japanese non-governmental organizations for food and non-food items for the victims of the earthquake in Herat.

The Japanese Embassy has said that the government of this country will be with the people of Afghanistan and will continue its efforts to improve the humanitarian situation in this country.

During the last two weeks, devastating earthquakes in western Afghanistan have worsened the human situation.

More than 2,445 people died in Herat due to the earthquake and 2,440 others were injured.

The recent earthquakes in Herat have left thousands of other people homeless and affected.

Earthquake victims need food aid and facilities. Recently, a woman who was made homeless due to the fear of the earthquake, died due to the cold weather and the lack of facilities.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says that $93 million is needed to support 114,000 people affected by the earthquake in Herat.

The World Food Program also says that it urgently needs $19 million to provide emergency food aid to 100,000 people affected by the earthquake in Herat.

This program has said that in addition to helping the victims, it needs another 400 million dollars to deliver food aid to vulnerable and needy people before winter arrives and transportation routes are blocked.

The World Food Program has said that it is currently only able to provide food aid to one in five people in need in Afghanistan due to severe funding shortages.
