KSrelief’s Masam Project Clears 720 Mines in Yemen in a Week

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s (KSrelief) Masam Project, dedicated to mine clearance in Yemen, successfully dismantled 720 landmines across various regions of the country during the second week of August 2024.

Types of Mines Cleared

The mines cleared included:

3 anti-personnel mines

56 anti-tank mines

647 unexploded ordnance items

14 explosive devices

Total Mines Cleared Since Project Inception

Kabul 24: Since the start of the Masam Project, a total of 454,688 landmines have been removed from Yemeni territory.

Impact on Civilian Population

These mines were indiscriminately planted across various areas in Yemen with the intent of inflicting harm on innocent civilians, including children, women, and older people.

The clearance of these mines helps eliminate the threats they pose to the Yemeni population and prevents lifelong injuries, disabilities, and tragic loss of life.
