In a ceremony held in Khost province, Afghanistan’s Acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, declared that efforts by certain countries to isolate the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan have completely backfired.
Kabul 24: According to him, thanks to the sound and principled leadership of the Islamic Emirate, it is now those same countries that find themselves isolated and have lost global trust.Mawlawi Abdul Kabir stated: “Those who tried to push the Islamic Emirate toward isolation and leave it alone in the international arena have failed.
Today, due to the healthy policies of the Islamic Emirate, our relations with the world have reached such a level that instead of us being marginalized, they themselves have been pushed to the margins.”He highlighted significant achievements since the return of the Islamic Emirate to power in August 2021, including the restoration of nationwide security, as well as notable progress in political, economic, and other sectors.
The minister also spoke about the role of religious madrasas (schools), describing them as centers of religious education that, when necessary, have also served as strongholds for defending the faith.
He said: “These madrasas are centers of religious learning, but in times of need, they have also acted as centers for the defense of religion. Over the past twenty years, this has been clearly proven—they have been sites of fidayeen (suicide) attacks and rocket operations.
Madrasas must be respected and recognized as institutions of religious education and, when required, as centers for the protection of the faith.”On the issue of Afghan refugees, Mawlawi Abdul Kabir emphasized that there is no official agreement with any country regarding forced repatriation.
He called on all nations to facilitate the voluntary and dignified return of Afghan migrants.Quoting the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Emirate, he urged recent graduates of religious institutions to focus on sharing their knowledge with others rather than seeking personal positions or power.
At the conclusion of the event, the minister reaffirmed that the rights of returning migrants will not be violated.
He announced that the Islamic Emirate has launched a large-scale program to distribute land and provide winter assistance packages to repatriated families.
The remarks come amid ongoing international debates over recognition of the Taliban-led government, continued deportations of Afghan migrants from Pakistan and Iran, and reports of humanitarian challenges facing returnees in Afghanistan as of January 10, 2026.
