Russian airstrikes targeted high-rise apartment blocks in Kharkiv, Ukraine, during a second consecutive nighttime attack, resulting in at least 21 injuries, including an 8-year-old child. The strikes occurred in the Shevchenkivsky district, damaging nine residential buildings, according to local officials.
Previous Attack Casualties
Kabul 24: This latest assault follows another attack on Friday night that injured 15 individuals, including two children aged 10 and 12. Both attacks utilized KAB-type aerial glide bombs, a retrofitted Soviet weapon notorious for devastating eastern Ukraine.
Broader Military Actions
In addition to the Kharkiv strikes, Russia launched 80 Shahed drones and two missiles overnight into Sunday. Ukrainian air defense successfully intercepted 71 of these drones, with six more lost due to electronic warfare measures. The ongoing conflict has escalated since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
