Pakistan: About 60,000 Afghan refugees have returned to their country

Pakistani media have reported that 59,561 Afghan immigrants have returned to their country after setting a one-month deadline for illegal immigrants to leave Pakistan.

According to Kabul 24; Pakistan has given illegal immigrants until November 1 to leave the country.

Meanwhile, Radio Pakistan has written that a total of 59,561 Afghan refugees have returned so far, which will “have a positive impact on the region”.

This media added that the Afghan Refugee Affairs Commission has made appropriate facilities to facilitate the return of its citizens.

Also, according to Radio Pakistan, Pakistan’s security forces are actively working at the border for the safe return of Afghan citizens.

Pakistan’s decision to deport Afghan migrants and refugees is facing criticism from human rights organizations. Human rights activists want Pakistan to reconsider its decision.

According to this report, the Interior Minister of Pakistan has asked the political representatives of Western countries to speed up the process of issuing visas for Afghans who are to be transferred to the West.

Meanwhile, these asylum seekers have to travel to Pakistan to get a visa.

Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities have continued to insist that migrants without residency documents are deported for security and economic reasons.

The government of Pakistan has given more than one million Afghan immigrants the opportunity to leave Pakistan until the first of November, i.e. eight days from now, otherwise they will be forcibly deported.

United Nations human rights experts have said in a joint statement that Pakistan’s decision to deport illegal immigrants will affect more than 1.4 million Afghan citizens, including many of them due to serious concerns over human rights violations and the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.

They fled to Pakistan in search of security and protection.
