Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held talks in Brussels with Kaja Kallas, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, on the sidelines of the 7th round of the EU-Pakistan Strategic Dialogue, during which the two sides also discussed bilateral relations amid recent tensions with Afghanistan.
Kabul 24: According to a statement issued by the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the meeting reaffirmed Islamabad’s commitment to peace, stability, regional prosperity, and the resolution of issues through dialogue among neighbors.
Pakistan called on the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan to play a constructive role in the shared objective of combating terrorism.Both sides expressed support for a peaceful, stable Afghanistan that contributes to regional stability.
They stressed the need for a credible, UN-led political process in line with the Doha Process and the commitments made by the Islamic Emirate to the international community.
The European Union, for its part, underlined the importance of the safe, dignified, and voluntary return of Afghan refugees from Pakistan in accordance with international standards
