Kabul 24: During a meeting in Kabul, Kabir reiterated the Islamic Emirate’s policy of engagement, mutual respect, and cooperation. He claimed that opium cultivation has been eradicated, corruption addressed, and drug addiction treatment is ongoing, ensuring no threats arise from Afghanistan.
EU’s Continued Support
Rafaella Iodice, the outgoing EU Chargé d’Affaires, acknowledged the Islamic Emirate’s cooperation in raising aid for Afghans and confirmed the EU’s commitment to assist in education and school construction. She expressed optimism about Afghanistan’s positive trajectory and pledged to communicate its situation to EU officials.
Upcoming Diplomatic Engagements
Iodice plans to attend a meeting in Qatar before heading to Brussels to discuss Afghanistan’s future with EU officials. Meanwhile, Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, deputy foreign minister, expressed gratitude for EU assistance and assured continued cooperation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
