Qadeer Qiafeh, the deputy head of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, said that currently precious stones extracted from Afghanistan are imported into Iran through “unofficial channels” and traded in this country’s market.
According to Kabul 24, the deputy of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce made these statements in an interview with Ilna news agency that was published on Saturday, 22 Thor.
He added: “The extraction of these stones can be a place of cooperation between Iran and Afghanistan.”
The deputy of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce has emphasized that investing in Afghanistan’s mines can be profitable for Iranian capitalists.
He added: “Several large mining companies of the country have formed a consortium with the aim of entering Afghanistan’s mines, and a large steel company is also making serious decisions to enter Afghanistan’s mining market.”
Earlier, Gholamreza Nazparvar, the head of Iran’s Khorasan Razavi Chamber of Mines, had also said that Tehran should take commercial advantage of Afghanistan’s precious stones.
Earlier, Mr. Qiafe said that several large Iranian companies have formed a group with the aim of entering Afghanistan’s mines.
