Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh al-Khulaifi, the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, recently engaged in discussions with Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the deputy prime minister for economic affairs, urging the inclusion of a representative from the Islamic Emirate in the upcoming third Doha meeting on Afghanistan scheduled for the end of June.
Importance of Islamic Emirate’s Presence Emphasized
In a statement from the Economic Deputy of the Prime Minister’s Office, Al-Khulaifi highlighted the significance of having an Islamic Emirate representative at the third Doha meeting, expressing Qatar’s stance to the United Nations on this matter.
Saleem Paigir, a political analyst, emphasized the constructive nature of the dialogue between the Islamic Emirate’s economic deputy and Qatari officials, underscoring the belief that authentic Afghan representation is crucial for the success of discussions concerning Afghanistan.
Strengthening Relations and Cooperation
During the meetings, discussions also revolved around the Islamic Emirate’s interest in enhancing political and economic ties with various nations. The Ministry of Defense confirmed Mawlawi Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid’s commitment to bolstering relations and cooperation with Qatar.
Additionally, agreements were reached with Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani, the acting Minister of Interior, to expand political and economic cooperation between Kabul and Doha.

Al-Khulaifi and his delegation further engaged with Abdul Salam Hanafi, the Deputy Prime Minister for Administrative Affairs, affirming Qatar’s commitment to strengthening ties with the Islamic Emirate across multiple sectors.
The Political Commission of the Islamic Emirate also deliberated on crucial decisions regarding the country’s situation, regional dynamics, and preparations for the forthcoming Doha meeting, underscoring the importance of inclusive and productive dialogue for the benefit of the Afghan people.
