Rule of thumb: Women should hide their faces and bodies from men

The Ministry of Justice has announced the enforcement of the “Vice and Virtue” law, ratified by the leader of the Islamic Emirate. This comprehensive law includes four chapters and thirty-five articles addressing various societal issues.
Key Provisions of the Law

Kabul24: Significant topics covered include women’s hijab, media regulations, and public interactions by ministry enforcers. Barkatullah Rasooli, spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice, emphasized the ministry’s duty to uphold Islamic Sharia and maintain social harmony.

Women’s Hijab Regulations

Article 13 mandates that women cover their faces to prevent temptation, labeling loud voices as immodest. Additionally, it prohibits drivers from transporting adult women without a male guardian.

Media and Public Conduct Restrictions

Article 17 restricts media content that contradicts Sharia, while Article 22 prohibits certain behaviors, including wearing ties and friendships with non-believers. These regulations reflect the Taliban’s commitment to enforcing strict interpretations of Islamic law.
