Russia has dismissed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s recently announced “victory plan,” labeling it a strategic maneuver aimed at securing Western support rather than a genuine effort for peace.
Kabul 24: On Wednesday, Zelenskiy stated that his “victory plan” is complete and will be presented to U.S. President Joe Biden and the United Nations Security Council next week. While specific details remain undisclosed, Zelenskiy claims the initiative aims to establish terms acceptable to Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict with Russia, which has persisted for over two and a half years.
Russian Response
Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, criticized the plan as self-serving, accusing Zelenskiy of attempting to draw the West into a broader war against Russia. She emphasized that the initiative does not contribute to finding a diplomatic solution and reiterated Moscow’s stance that Western nations should cease military support for Ukraine.
Zakharova declared any peace efforts excluding Russia as futile, asserting that the primary goal of Zelenskiy’s plan is to maintain the anti-Russian coalition rather than achieve a meaningful resolution to the conflict.
