Kabul24: In a tragic development, a 17-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself in her house in the Qarqin district of Jozjan, while a student of a religious school in Badghis province ended his life inside the school premises.
The incidents have raised alarm bells about the growing incidence of suicide across the country.
The Suicide of Sabzegol in Jowzjan
Taliban police in Jawzjan have identified the 17-year-old girl as Sabzegol. She hailed from Shurtpeh village and was a resident of the Qarqin district.
Unfortunately, the reasons for her suicide are unclear as of now, and an investigation is underway.
Family Violence and Mental Health Issues
Local sources claim that Sabzegol’s suicide may have been due to family violence, although this has not been confirmed.
