The police and Pakistani authorities announced that unknown armed men in Musikhel area of Balochistan province of this country got off the passengers of passing cars and shot them and set the cars on fire before fleeing.
Kabul 24: Najib Kaker; The deputy commissioner of Musakhel district of Baluchistan province, Pakistan, told the journalist today, Monday, 5th of Sanballah, that last night, unknown armed men blocked the highway between Punjab and Balochistan and took passengers off the passenger buses for identification.
According to Mr. Kakar, the gunmen also set ten vehicles on fire.
Officials in Pakistan’s Baluchistan also said that unknown gunmen shot and killed 23 people from passenger buses in the Musakhel region of the province last night. Local officials said all the victims were from Pakistan’s Punjab province.
According to Ayub Achakzai, one of the senior officials of the Pakistani police, the attackers killed 23 people and set 10 cars on fire.
In separate statements, President Asif Ali Zardari and Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi called the attack “barbaric” and promised that those behind this barbaric attack will be punished.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for this incident.
This attack took place hours after the “Baloch Liberation Army” warned people to stay away from highways.
Recently, Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist attacks.
A few days ago, the Ministry of Interior of Pakistan announced that at least 12 policemen were killed and six others were injured in an ambush by armed robbers in the province of Punjab.
Officials said that the armed robbers attacked the police forces when one of the two vehicles carrying them had a technical violation in Machka area
