The world is gradually accepting the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) as the legitimate authority in the country, according to Russia’s special envoy Zamir Kabulov. Kabulov stated that Russia acknowledged this fact earlier, and now the international community is also becoming aware of it.
Kabul 24: Ahead of the upcoming UN meeting on the Afghan crisis in Doha, Qatar, Kabulov expressed hope that the meeting will help revive close and constructive cooperation between the international community and the Afghan authorities to address the country’s pressing social and economic challenges.
Kabulov also said he plans to communicate with the IEA delegation on the sidelines of the Doha meeting.
The Russian envoy emphasized the importance of the international community engaging with the Afghan government through bilateral mechanisms rather than multilateral contacts, and called for the release of Afghanistan’s sovereign reserves and the lifting of unilateral restrictions on the banking system.
