Delta Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Utah as Air Slide Deploys Accidentally Injuring Crew Member

A Delta flight traveling from New York to Los Angeles was forced to make an emergency landing in Utah due to technical issues, as reported by local sources. Adding to the unexpected turn of events, an inflatable air slide inside the plane accidentally deployed upon landing, injuring a crew member who was later rushed to the hospital.

Kabul24: flight, carrying 168 passengers, was en route from New York to Los Angeles when the captain informed the passengers of technical difficulties and the need to land in Salt Lake City. The captain cited a malfunctioning temperature instrument in the backup system, necessary for icing conditions, as the reason for the diversion.

Inflatable Air Slide Accidentally Deploys, Injuring Crew Member

Upon landing in Utah, passengers were asked to deplane while the technical maintenance took place. Several hours later, as passengers prepared to reboard the aircraft for departure around 1 pm local time, a mishap occurred. The inflatable air slide located at the back of the plane unexpectedly opened while the aircraft was still at the gate. Unfortunately, a crew member was injured during this incident and subsequently taken to a hospital for medical attention. The employee was discharged after undergoing all necessary check-ups.

Passengers onboard recounted the incident, with one passenger stating that the crew had armed a rear door, and the air slide accidentally opened, causing a panel to strike the crew member “like an airbag” in a car. Another passenger described the air slide as “exploding” inside the aircraft. Sources indicate that the slide was mistakenly deployed by the catering staff, resulting in the unfortunate injury to the crew member
