Israel accepted the ceasefire plan with Hezbollah

On Tuesday, November 26, US President Joe Biden described the acceptance of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon’s Hezbollah as “good news”.

Kabul 24: In a speech, he said: “I have talked with the Prime Ministers of Israel and Lebanon and I am happy to announce that they have accepted the American proposal to end the destructive conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.”

While welcoming the ceasefire, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the agreement “keeps Israel away from the threat of Hezbollah.”

Ursula von Derlein, the head of the European Commission, also reacted to this agreement and called it “promising”.

The agreement, which was approved by the Israeli cabinet on Tuesday, was reached after weeks of negotiations between the parties.

It is reported that one of the disputed issues was France’s role in monitoring the ceasefire in Lebanon. Since Paris criticized Tel Aviv’s performance in Lebanon and Gaza, the relations between the two countries have undergone changes.

In his speech, the President of the United States said that the ceasefire agreement, which will be implemented from 4 am local time on Wednesday, is designed to be “permanent”.

After agreeing to the cease-fire agreement, the Israeli cabinet approved that the cease-fire will take effect on the morning of Wednesday, November 27.

In his speech, Biden also named Hezbollah “responsible for Israel’s heavy attacks on Lebanon” and said that Israel did not start this war.

The American president further emphasized that civilians on both sides of the war should be able to return to their homes in safety.

Although Biden stressed that no military forces of his country will play a role in this process, he said that he has ordered the continued transfer of military capabilities to the region to “defend Israel and deter the common enemy.”

At the same time as Biden’s speech, the presidents of the United States and France announced by releasing a joint statement that they will work to ensure the full implementation of the Lebanese ceasefire agreement.

However, just moments after Joe Biden’s speech, Israel once again targeted Beirut with its heavy attacks
