Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Acting Minister of Interior Affairs, met with tribal elders, local influential figures, religious scholars, and provincial officials during an official visit to Bamyan province in central Afghanistan.
Kabul 24: The visit, aimed at evaluating the security situation, hearing local demands, and strengthening coordination between the government and the public, focused primarily on discussions surrounding national unity, political stability, and collective participation in the country’s reconstruction.
Addressing the gathering, Haqqani highlighted the country’s ethnic and religious diversity, stating that Afghanistan is the shared home of all Afghan citizens and that no single group or ethnicity holds superiority over another.
He emphasized that following decades of conflict and instability, a historic opportunity has finally emerged to solidify brotherhood and unity among the populace. He added that all citizens must work together in an atmosphere of warmth, equality, and mutual respect to rebuild and advance the nation.
The Acting Interior Minister pointed to the critical role of security in driving economic and social development, noting that under the umbrella of the Islamic system, nationwide security has been established across all regions, including the central provinces.
He further remarked that sustaining long-term security is only achievable through close cooperation between the public and security forces, reassuring attendees that the administration remains committed to safeguarding the rights of all citizens and delivering equitable services across the entire country.
During the meeting, tribal elders and local officials from Bamyan outlined their challenges, development needs, and recommendations regarding infrastructure, the rule of law, and job creation.
Welcoming the visit of senior government officials to the central highlands, the community representatives requested increased attention from the central leadership toward implementing development projects, road construction, and boosting the local tourism sector in Bamyan.
In conclusion, Haqqani assured the residents of Bamyan that their concerns would be addressed, reiterating that the administration will spare no effort to bridge regional divides and foster genuine solidarity among all Afghans.
