In response to continued air and missile strikes by the Pakistani military targeting residential zones in Helmand and Kunar provinces, Hamdullah Fitrat, Deputy Spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, issued a stern reaction, asserting that the Afghan government will under no circumstances overlook the bloodshed of its citizens and will exact retribution from Pakistan.
Kabul 24: Emphasizing that Afghanistan’s response will be calculated, measured, and decisive, the Deputy Spokesperson noted that retaliatory measures will be executed based on field assessments at an appropriate time and place. These remarks highlight Kabul’s uncompromising stance regarding the violation of its airspace and territorial integrity by Pakistani armed forces.
This stern warning comes as recent military incursions into Afghanistan’s border regions have inflicted substantial damage on local infrastructure and residential properties, alongside causing the deaths and injuries of dozens of civilians, including women and children.
The attacks have sparked widespread public outrage across Afghanistan, drawing unified condemnations from Islamic Emirate officials, political figures, and international monitoring bodies.
Regional analysts maintain that Islamabad’s repeated cross-border operations and nocturnal air raids do not offer a viable resolution to shared security challenges; rather, they significantly heighten the risk of broader border escalations along the Durand Line.
Kabul has repeatedly dismissed Pakistan’s claims regarding the presence of armed factions on Afghan soil, urging Islamabad to refrain from projecting internal security issues outward and instead pursue diplomacy and mutual respect for national sovereignty.
