Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, has rejected claims made by Russian officials regarding the activities of ISIS in Afghanistan, emphasizing that no threat emanates from Afghan territory toward other countries.
Kabul 24: In response to statements by Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, Mujahid said: “We consider this claim incorrect.
No country should have any concern regarding Afghanistan. No individual or group is allowed to carry out such activities from Afghan soil. ISIS has been completely destroyed in Afghanistan, and the security forces of the Islamic Emirate have seriously fought against it.”
Mujahid added: “The security of Afghanistan has been ensured, and we are committed to preventing any group from using Afghan territory against other nations.”This reaction comes after Alexander Bortnikov, in a meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) yesterday, stated that ISIS-Khorasan is actively recruiting fighters among citizens of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, as well as labor migrants in Russia.
He warned that secret terrorist networks are being formed and terrorist attacks are being planned.Meanwhile, Afghanistan’s Defense Minister arrived in Moscow yesterday to participate in a three-day security conference focused on regional security issues.
Mujahid urged Moscow not to be influenced by misleading information from certain intelligence circles and to base its assessments on the existing realities in Afghanistan.
He reiterated that ISIS has been entirely eliminated in the country and that Afghan security forces continue to monitor and neutralize any remaining elements.
The Islamic Emirate is seeking to strengthen diplomatic and security ties with neighboring countries, particularly Russia, China, and Central Asian states. Russia, while expressing concerns about terrorist threats, has in recent months stressed the need for cooperation with Kabul to ensure shared security.
The visit of Afghanistan’s Defense Minister to Moscow and his participation in this important security conference could provide an opportunity for direct dialogue between the parties to address security concerns and develop joint strategies against terrorism.
