Amir Khan Muttaqi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, described the recent negotiations with Pakistan as positive during a meeting with Sadin Yildiz, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Turkish Embassy in Kabul.
kabul 24: According to a statement released by the Afghan Foreign Ministry, the meeting focused on regional developments and the ongoing talks between Kabul and Islamabad held in Urumqi, China.
Muttaqi told the Turkish diplomat that the negotiations with Pakistan had been productive so far and expressed hope that minor technical issues would not hinder the progress of the dialogue.
The Afghan foreign minister emphasized that the Islamic Emirate had approached the talks with sincerity and a solution-oriented mindset.
He voiced optimism that removing small technical obstacles would lead to tangible outcomes. Muttaqi also spoke positively about bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Turkey, describing them as strong and constructive.
He praised Turkey’s previous mediating role in regional issues as valuable and effective.In response, Sadin Yildiz stated that positive and friendly relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan hold special importance for Turkey.
He assured that Ankara would continue its efforts to support and facilitate progress in this regard.
The meeting comes as Afghan and Pakistani delegations continue multi-day negotiations in Urumqi aimed at addressing border security, economic cooperation, and other mutual concerns.
