به دنبال حملات مرگبار گروه داعش بر دو مسجد در قندوز و قندهار، یک فرمانده طالبان در جنوب کشور از ایجاد نیروی ویژه برای حفاظت از مساجد و مدارس خبر دادهاست.. به گزارش کابل۲۴، عبدالغفار محمدی؛ فرمانده پولیس طالبان برای قندهار به خبرگزاری رویترزر گفتهاست که پیش از این اغلب نیروهای داوطلب محلی تدابیری را برای امنیت اماکن مذهبی در دست میگرفتند.
او افزودهاست: «متاسفانه آنها نتوانستند از این اماکن محافظت کنند و در آینده ما نیروهای ویژه امنیتی را برای حفاظت از مساجد و مدارس تعیین خواهیم کرد.» آقای محمد به رویترز گفته که طالبان در تلاش بازداشت عاملان حملات اخیر به مساجد شیعیان در قندوز و قندهار و مجازات آنها اند. در نتیجه دو حمله مرگبار در مساجد شیعیان در ولایتهای قندوز و قندهار نزدیک به ۲۰۰ تن کشته و حدود ۳۰۰ تن دیگر نیز زخم برداشتهاند. این حملات در دو جمعه گذشته اتفاق افتاده و محکومیت جهانی را در پی داشته است.
طالبان پیش از حملات گفته بودند که داعش تهدید جدی برای حکومت آنان نیست و تنها «مزاحمت» ایجاد میکنند. مقامات دولت آنان همچنین بعد از حملات گفتهاند که داعش نمیتواند تهدیدی برای امنیت افغانستان باشد و به زودی سرکوب خواهد شد.
از طرفی هم یک نشریه وابسته به داعش روز جمعه و ساعاتی پیش از حمله بر مسجدی در قندهار در مطلبی تهدید کرد که شیعیان افغانستان را همچنان مورد حمله قرار خواهند داد.
