Ministry of Information and Culture Honors Journalists, Political Analysts, and Media Officials

On Tuesday, March 10, 2026 (19 Hoot 1404), the Ministry of Information and Culture of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan held an official ceremony in Kabul to commend political experts, journalists, and media executives for their effective and responsible performance of professional duties.

Kabul 24: The event brought together a wide range of participants, including senior government officials, prominent political analysts, media managers, and active journalists.

Sheikh Shir Ahmad Haqqani, Minister of Information and Culture, delivered the keynote address and highlighted the critical role played by media professionals and analysts during the current sensitive period.In his speech, Minister Haqqani stated: “Preserving the Islamic system and the existing security is the shared responsibility of every individual in Afghan society.

The positions taken by political analysts and the professional work of the media in wartime and challenging conditions play a decisive role in raising public awareness, strengthening political consciousness among the people, and fostering national unity.”He emphasized that the interests of the Afghan nation are unified and common to all, and safeguarding those interests is a collective duty.

The minister called on media outlets to reflect facts transparently, accurately, and without distortion, so that the real, positive, and authentic image of Afghanistan’s progress, security, and current situation is presented to the world.

Minister Haqqani also stressed the principle of equality among ethnic groups and languages, declaring: “In Afghanistan there is no superiority based on language, ethnicity, or position. What prevails is unity, brotherhood, and national solidarity among all citizens.

This unity forms the foundation of the strength and stability of the system and the security of the country.”The ceremony took place amid ongoing challenges faced by Afghan media workers, including restricted access to information, security pressures, and the constant demand for accurate and balanced reporting.

The ministry’s formal recognition of media professionals is seen as both appreciation for their efforts in responsible journalism and support for the official narrative of the Islamic Emirate.

The large attendance of analysts and journalists at the event underscored the growing importance of the media’s role in shaping public opinion and reinforcing social cohesion in Afghanistan. Officials present reaffirmed their commitment to supporting media activities within the framework of Islamic values and national laws.
