kabul 24: The blast occurred in a crowded area of the Sarai Naurang bazaar on Monday evening. According to initial reports, emergency responders and security forces rushed to the scene immediately after the explosion.

Injured individuals were quickly transported to nearby hospitals, with some of the critically wounded being referred to medical facilities in Peshawar for specialized treatment.Authorities have not yet determined the exact nature of the explosion.

Lakki Marwat, located in the former tribal regions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has witnessed several security challenges in recent years.

The district’s strategic location and complex security environment have kept it under close watch by Pakistani law enforcement agencies.

Local administration and police officials strongly condemned the attack and stated that a thorough investigation is being conducted to identify and apprehend those responsible. Security forces have intensified patrols and increased checkpoints across the district to prevent further incidents.

Eyewitnesses described the blast as intense, with thick smoke and fire engulfing parts of the market. Many shopkeepers and residents present at the time recounted harrowing scenes of casualties being carried away from the site.

Hospitals in Lakki Marwat and surrounding areas were placed on high alert following the explosion. This incident comes despite ongoing efforts by the Pakistani government to stabilize security in the merged tribal districts and border regions.

While major improvements have been noted in recent months, sporadic attacks continue to occur in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Security analysts suggest that such incidents may be aimed at destabilizing the region and spreading fear among the local population.

The families of the victims have expressed grief and demanded swift justice. Provincial authorities have announced compensation for the families of those killed and injured in the blast.
