In a controversial address, the Commander-in-Chief of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced a cash bounty equivalent to $30,000 for the killing or capture of any U.S. military personnel.
Speaking on Sunday during a ceremony honoring journalists, Amir Hatami stated that if the act is carried out by a woman, the allocated reward will double.
Kabul 24: According to statements by the Army Commander, the cash gift—estimated at approximately five billion tomans—will be awarded to any combatant or individual who succeeds in neutralizing or capturing a hostiles U.S. force and handing them over to relevant authorities. Emphasizing the role of women in this initiative, he added that Iranian women who successfully execute such operations will be eligible for a double reward amounting to $60,000.
Amir Hatami attributed the funding for these bounties to public contributions through the “Financial Jihad” campaign, assuring that the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran guarantees the payment of these amounts.
He explained that a high volume of public requests to contribute financially toward military and defense endeavors prompted the official adoption and structuring of this measure.
The Army Commander further outlined additional incentives for those who carry out these actions. Under the announced plan, the weapon used by any individual who successfully eliminates a U.S. service member will be purchased at double its market value, alongside the provision of a new, modern firearm. Furthermore, the original weapon used in the operation will be preserved as a commemorative display in a designated museum.
These unprecedented remarks and the declaration of a monetary reward targeting foreign military personnel have drawn widespread reactions and analysis across international media and diplomatic circles.
