Afghan Airstrikes Hit Key Pakistani Military Bases

Amid escalating border tensions between Kabul and Islamabad, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defense announced that the Afghan Air Force has carried out precision strikes on several high-value Pakistani military installations across the so-called Durand Line.

Kabul 24: Officials described the operation as a direct and proportionate response to recent Pakistani Air Force airstrikes that targeted Kabul and other parts of Afghan territory.

Enayatullah Khwarazmi, spokesperson for the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Emirate, stated: “The Afghan Air Force successfully struck and inflicted significant damage on major Pakistani military bases and facilities.” The confirmed targets included:Noor Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi,

12th Corps headquarters in Quetta, Balochistan,

Khoizo Camp in the Mohmand Agency area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,

Several additional command posts and strategic military infrastructure.

Khwarazmi emphasized that the strikes were executed with high accuracy and caused considerable material and operational losses to Pakistan’s armed forces.Ground engagements have also intensified.

The Ministry reported that at 11:45 a.m. local time today, Afghan defensive forces destroyed a Pakistani militia armored tank positioned near the Angur Ada post in Paktika province, completely neutralizing the vehicle.Overnight clashes in the Angur Ada sector further escalated when Islamic Emirate forces launched retaliatory operations against Pakistani military positions.

According to the Ministry, these ground actions forced Pakistani troops to withdraw from several forward positions, resulting in the loss of control over key border points.

The Ministry stressed that all Afghan military actions remain defensive in nature and are intended to deter further Pakistani aerial incursions into Afghan airspace and territory. “These responses are calibrated to match the scale and nature of the aggression we have faced,” the statement read.

Pakistan’s military has not yet issued an official reaction to the reported strikes and border engagements.

However, local sources along the frontier describe heightened military movements on both sides, the temporary closure of several crossing points, and increased alertness among civilian populations in border districts.

The rapid escalation—from artillery exchanges and limited drone activity to coordinated airstrikes and ground counter-attacks—has raised serious concerns about the potential for a broader conflict.

Observers warn that continued tit-for-tat operations could destabilize the already fragile border region and draw in additional regional actors.
