The 6.0-magnitude earthquake that struck on September 9, 2025, in eastern Afghanistan caused significant devastation, particularly in Kunar province.
Reports indicate that at least 2,205 people were killed and over 3,500 others injured. Rescue operations began immediately, with medical teams from the 400-bed hospital in Kabul providing critical care to the wounded.
