Afghanistan’s national kurash team made history at the 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025 in Manama, Bahrain, securing two bronze medals.

Rohullah Nazari, a standout in the 83 kg category, was the star of the event. Last night, he defeated his Kyrgyz opponent with superior technique, clinching a bronze medal. Nazari then faced Iran’s representative for a spot in the final.
Despite a valiant effort, he fell short but proudly claimed the bronze, a testament to his skill and determination. The second bronze was earned by another Afghan kurash athlete, underscoring the team’s depth of talent.

The 3rd Asian Youth Games 2025, which kicked off two days ago in Bahrain, hosts over 8,000 athletes from more than 40 Asian nations across 20+ sports. Afghanistan’s delegation is actively competing in kurash, taekwondo, martial arts, futsal, boxing, and jujitsu.
