Indonesia Supports Reintegration of Afghanistan into International Community

The Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia has announced Jakarta’s readiness and support for the reintegration of Afghanistan into the international community.

Kabul 24: This position was outlined following a diplomatic meeting and has been welcomed by the Charge d’Affaires of the Afghan Embassy in Jakarta.

Anis Matta, Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Gelora Party, stated on the social media platform X that he met with Shoaib Bariali on Monday, August 24.

According to the senior Indonesian diplomat, the discussions focused directly on evaluating the progress made by the ruling authorities in Afghanistan toward fulfilling international commitments and paving the way for the country’s return to the global diplomatic arena.

The Vice Foreign Minister highlighted that Indonesia, based on its core principles and through “constructive engagement,” will continue to back this process.

Matta noted that the ultimate objectives of these efforts are to improve the living conditions of the Afghan people, achieve sustainable stability, and foster economic prosperity across the country.

As an influential nation in the Islamic world, Indonesia has consistently emphasized the role of dialogue and active diplomacy in resolving regional challenges.

Meanwhile, Qais Barakzai, Charge d’Affaires of the Afghan Embassy in Jakarta, expressed appreciation for Jakarta’s constructive approach and positive stance.

Highlighting the significance of bilateral relations, Barakzai reiterated Afghanistan’s commitment to maintaining meaningful, mutual engagement with the international community.

He stressed that strengthening such channels of communication plays a vital role in securing long-term peace, ensuring regional stability, and broadening diplomatic cooperation.

These discussions take place as efforts to establish formal communication channels between the international community and the interim government of Afghanistan remain a key priority in regional and global diplomacy.
