Iran Warns Neighbors Against Joining US ‘Economic War’

Amid escalating pressures and US President Donald Trump’s declaration of an “Economic D-Day” campaign aimed at fully isolating Tehran financially and commercially, Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, issued an unprecedented warning to neighboring states in an interview with state media.

Kabul 24: Rezaei emphasized that while the Islamic Republic does not seek to expand the scope of war across the region, any neighboring countries that participate in Washington’s sanctions and economic pressure campaign will be regarded as “hostile entities and enemies.”

He explicitly stated that should these nations cooperate with the US initiative, their economic interests and export corridors would become targets for retaliatory measures, warning that Iran would prevent even “a single drop of oil” from leaving the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf.

This stern posture represents Tehran’s effort to deter Gulf nations from aligning with the new US strategy, which seeks to sever Iran’s remaining currency exchange networks, swap arrangements, shipping lines, and front companies across the region.
