Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister Arrives in Kabul at the Head of High-Level Delegation

Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister arrived in Kabul on Friday evening at the head of a high-level political, economic, and governmental delegation for a three-day official visit.

Kabul 24: The trip is part of Afghanistan’s ongoing efforts to expand regional engagements with Central Asian countries.Sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan confirmed that the delegation will hold extensive talks with Afghan officials on strengthening cooperation in political, economic, security, trade, transit, and investment sectors.

Economic analyst Abdul Shakoor Hedewal described the visit as significant, stating: “There is no doubt that the more countries engage with Afghanistan and Afghan officials visit other nations, the greater the political and economic benefits.

Internationally, it also signals to the world that security has been established in Afghanistan and there are no major problems.”Analysts believe the visit goes beyond purely economic objectives and could pave the way for deeper political ties and broader regional cooperation.

Political expert Mohammad Akram Azimi noted the deep cultural, religious, and economic commonalities between Afghanistan and Central Asian nations.

He said: “The visit of the Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and his delegation is important from all perspectives — political, security, and economic.

Afghanistan shares not only cultural and religious bonds but also significant economic interests with Central Asian countries.”Economic analyst Sayed Masoud highlighted the strategic importance of relations with Kazakhstan, adding: “Afghanistan’s ties with Central Asia, particularly with influential nations like Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, carry special weight.

Kazakhstan pursues a balanced and neutral foreign policy and can play a vital role in supplying food and grains to Afghanistan, either alongside Pakistan or as an important alternative option.”This visit comes amid growing bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan in recent months, particularly in trade, transit, transportation, agricultural exports, and regional cooperation. Both sides have repeatedly emphasized the need to increase trade volume and joint investments.

The three-day trip is expected to result in new agreements and memorandums of understanding, especially in economic and transit fields. Such deals could mark an important step toward integrating Afghanistan more deeply into regional economic networks.
