Mamdani’s Victory Over the Capitalist Machine: Democracy 1 – Oligarchy 0

Zohran Mamdani, the social-democratic politician, triumphed in a fully democratic process despite all the threats and smear campaigns from Donald Trump.

Kabul 24: Trump tried to block his victory on three levels: first, with ideological accusations, labeling him an antisemite. Then, with ideological smears, calling him a communist.

And finally, with financial and economic threats, declaring that if Mamdani won, he would slash New York City‘s budget. Yet, the people turned their backs on all these threats and voted for him.

You see? Whenever a democratic leftist tries to wrest power from the clutches of billionaires and return it to the people, the media and financial machinery of the capitalist system springs into action: first they accuse him, then threaten, and then, using tools of sanctions and economic pressure, they target the people’s livelihoods.

In the next step, through their own media, they instill the mindset that “leftism equals economic collapse.” And unfortunately, a group of unaware people uncritically repeat that narrative.

I want to emphasize once again: Capitalism and democracy are incompatible. The accumulation of wealth inevitably leads to the concentration of power, and the concentration of power is inherently at odds with democracy.

Oligarchic billionaires, to protect their interests, use every tool—accusations, threats, sanctions, or propaganda—to thwart democracy, which is the essence of leftist thought.

After this, expect widespread media campaigns against Mamdani and economic sabotage of New York.
