New reports from Israel’s Channel 12 reveal a high-stakes managerial reshuffle at the apex of Tel Aviv’s security apparatus.
Kabul 24: According to the report, Mossad Director Roman Gofman has removed two senior officials responsible for designing a special operation aimed at overthrowing the Iranian government.
While their identities remain undisclosed, it has been confirmed that one served as the head of Mossad’s intelligence division—a position held since last December—while the other was the chief official directly overseeing the “Iran dossier.”
Israeli defense sources told Channel 12 that although friction had existed between Gofman and the two officials since he assumed leadership, their removal was not driven solely by personal disputes, pointing instead to broader strategic considerations.
Nonetheless, both individuals will remain within the organization, transitioning to alternative roles within Mossad rather than being dismissed entirely.
Revelations indicate that the two ousted officials were the primary architects of a complex, multi-stage strategy designed to destabilize and ultimately topple the Iranian regime.
The core of this operation involved arming and steering Kurdish opposition groups to spark widespread unrest and security disruptions inside Iran’s borders.
A particularly striking detail of the exposed plan involves the logistics behind arming these factions.
According to the reports, Mossad intended to supply these groups with weapons seized during military operations in Gaza and Lebanon. The planned military aid package comprised small arms, anti-tank missiles, grenades, and mortars captured from Hamas and Hezbollah, alongside substantial financial backing and intelligence support.
With these sudden managerial changes at the helm of Mossad, the future of this ambitious operational blueprint now remains uncertain.
