The Balkhab coal mine in Sar-e Pol province, along with the connecting roads between the mines in this district, was officially inaugurated.
Kabul 24: This project marks a significant step toward economic development and the professional exploitation of the country’s natural resources.
The National Development Company, responsible for implementing the project, has so far dug approximately 100 tunnels (adits) for coal extraction, providing direct employment to over 2,000 people.
These job opportunities not only improve the livelihoods of families but also play a crucial role in reducing unemployment in the region.
According to the provided information, the mine’s annual extraction capacity is estimated at around 500,000 tons of coal.
This production volume can largely meet domestic coal demands and has the potential to facilitate exports to regional markets.
The coal extracted from this mine, due to its high quality, is suitable for various industries, including energy production and industrial raw materials.
The opening of the connecting roads between the mines is of particular importance, as these infrastructures facilitate the transportation of coal and access to the mines.
These roads not only reduce logistical costs but also increase the speed of delivering products to markets. This, in turn, contributes to the economic growth of the region and the country.
This project demonstrates the commitment of the government and the National Development Company to the optimal use of natural resources and the strengthening of industrial infrastructure.
It is expected that with the continuation of extraction activities and infrastructure development, the Balkhab mine will become one of the key coal production centers in the country, playing a vital role in economic self-sufficiency.
This achievement can also serve as a model for the development of other mines across different regions of the country and attract further investment in the mining sector.
